Our New Building

2020 was a landmark year in the history of Wexford Rape Crisis (WRC). In 1995, the service began providing support services to survivors of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence from a modest premises in George’s Street and from there moved to Clifford Street for over 25 years.

In 2020, Wexford Rape Crisis began and completed construction of its brand-new premises at The Rocks, in Maudlintown. The state-of-the-art building was designed by Wexford County Council architects Shay Howell and Sean Savage and built by Anthony Neville Homes. Construction work by Anthony Neville Homes began in July 2020 and was completed in November 2020 when the fit-out began. We are indebted to them for their commitment over the past numbers of years to bring this project to fruition.

This amazing project would not have been completed without the drive and vision of Tom Enright (CEO Wexford County Council) and the locally elected councilors who saw the need for this project for the women, men and young people from County Wexford.

Wexford Rape Crisis new state of the art building would also not have been completed to the quality and design it is without long hours of hard work and dedication from Johnny Moylan (Structural Civil Engineer) who volunteered over 3 years of his time to oversee and manage the project.

Office in the New Wexford Rape Crisis Building

Anne Doyle (pageinteriors.ie) was also hugely significant in realising the organisation’s dream for the interior of the building. She volunteered over 2 years of her time to create a warm, therapeutic, and modern interior that will ultimately create an environment for our clients to heal.

WRC is also hugely indebted to Geraldine and Fred Karlsson for donating €140,000 to the building fund, along with other corporate and individual donors.
