-The legal age of consent in Ireland is 17 – whether you’re a girl, guy, gay, or straight.
Reported STI cases in Ireland rose from 3,361 in 1995 to 12,719 in 2012 – roughly a 300% increase.
-You can’t tell by looking at someone if they have an STI.
The largest study of young people’s sexual behaviour and attitudes, Understanding Teenage Sexuality in Ireland* (also known as the Hyde Report), was done in 2004 and features interviews and information from 226 students across the country.
